Alpenglow is that mesmerizing sight where the first or last light of the day kisses the mountains, transforming them into ethereal masterpieces. It’s an optical phenomenon that is actually quite rare.  You see it when the sun is just below the horizon, but there is enough moisture in the air to refract the light and make a a red glowing band on the horizon opposite the sun.
