Juniper Loves Rock
A Sierra love story, a juniper hugs a granite boulder in the high country. This watercolor painting honors the marriage of tree and stone, unlikely lovers in nature.
I visit this tree and rock frequently in the Sierra, enjoying the company of this unlikely couple. The rock has supported this tree for decades. The tree has protected the rock from the sun, allowing lichens and mosses to thrive on the shaded granite. Together, tree and rock, they form a beautiful partnership.

This painting is protected with uv-filtering varnish and wax, but I suggest framing with uv-protective glass if it is to be in a bright spot in your home.
As with all watercolors, you’ll want to hang this in a dry spot (bathrooms, with all the water and steam, are not a great place for watercolors). Watercolors will fade when exposed to direct sunlight, so display them thoughtfully.
