The Unprotected Heart

I painted this self portrait for the Carnegie Art Center Show, Paperwork: An Exhibition of Works In, On, and Of Paper.

It a self portrait of me layered between two paintings of a Northern California river. I layered them together and then stitched them with kitchen twine. It feels like I feel when I’m out in nature.

I discovered I really loved working this way and intend to experiment more.
